Heritage & Listed Buildings
Buildings that have a heritage value require different treatment to other types of buildings. We advise clients on the type of development that would be considered as acceptable, and assist with preparing the supporting information required to satisfy the Local Planning Authority that there is no harm to the heritage assets.
The UK has a wealth of unique historic heritage assets the conservation of which requires the kind of specialist skill and expertise upon which our team of architects and planners pride themselves.
Our first step when considering proposals for historic assets is to examine the buildings past and how the building or site has changed over time. Our team assists clients in conserving the heritage of buildings and sites while also finding new, viable and sustainable uses which will ensure their preservation for generations to come.
Heritage advice is essential for properties that are either nationally or locally Listed Buildings and for sites that sit within or adjoining a Conservation Area or in an area where there is archaeological interest.
In the case of Listed Buildings as well as obtaining Planning Permission applicants are required by law to obtain Listed Building Consent (LBC) by submitting a second application in tandem with an application for planning permission.
